DFK UK & Ireland Annual Conference Attracts Record Attendance
A record number of delegates attended DFK UK & Ireland’s Annual Conference held in London.
Sixty-two delegates from member firms across the region, and as far afield as San Francisco and Singapore, joined forces for the three-day conference at the Grange Hotel, St Paul’s.
London firms Carter Backer Winter (CBW) and Wilson Wright both played a prominent role in the planning of the conference, which culminated in Liverpool-based DSG Chartered Accountants being named DFK UK & Ireland Firm of the Year 2016.
Caroline Cassidy, Executive Officer of DFK UK & Ireland, said: “We made a big effort to market the conference so we were delighted to achieve our target of setting a record attendance.
“Along with a strong UK & Ireland presence we were pleased members from as far as Singapore and San Francisco could join us, along with DFK President, Demetris Demetriou, EMEA Vice-President, Johan Dens and Emma Tran, Executive Officer of DFK Asia Pacific.
“It was an extremely successful conference and we received some fantastic feedback from delegates about the content and guest speakers.”
The theme of the conference was ‘Communication & Change...What's next?’ and included sessions from communication consultant and motivational speaker, Una McSorley, and Jodi Goldman, one of the UK’s leading personal impact specialists.
Bob Law, Chairman of DFK UK & Ireland, added: “The external presentations were excellent and created a buzz around the room, particularly the interactive sessions which were really engaging.
“Caroline did an amazing job putting the programme together, with support of the host firms, and made for a very slick conference which covered soft skills, technical sessions, along with social events.
“We were also pleased to be joined by representatives from the Movember Foundation to help us kick-start this year’s DFK Mo Bros and Mo Sistas campaign and to share news about how funds raised across the world are helping to raise awareness of men’s health issues and support thousands of people all over the world.”
Peter Winter, Managing Partner at CBW, was appointed vice-chair of DFK UK & Ireland during the conference.
He said: “ “This year’s conference was a tremendous success. Caroline, the DFK team and our co-hosts Wilson Wright did a fantastic job in organising the event which delivered some extremely insightful and thought-provoking content.
I am also extremely delighted to be appointed vice-chair of DFK UK & Ireland and look forward to working with the DFK team and member firms in the future.”
Adam Cramer, Partner at Wilson Wright added: “It was a fantastic conference, stimulating and thought provoking especially as regards practice and personal development.
“The benefits, not to mention the enjoyment, of spending time with fellow DFK members is never to be underestimated. A huge thank you to all at the DFK Executive Office.”
