Dubai Hosts First DFK EMEA Annual Conference

Arvind Malia, Partner, N R Doshi

DFK International is bringing its annual conference for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to Dubai for the first time.

The DFK EMEA conference for 2018, which will be held at the Fairmont Hotel from February 8 to 10, will be hosted by the association’s UAE member firm NR Doshi and Partners.

Due to the accessible location of Dubai, the conference is expected to attract delegates from Asia-Pacific and the Americas as well as Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Arvind Malia, partner at NR Doshi and Partners, believes it will provide the opportunity to showcase the range of business opportunities in Dubai and the Middle East, and further boost cross-border activity among member firms.

Malia said: “We are proud to be hosting the DFK EMEA annual conference, particularly as this is the first time that it will be held in Dubai and indeed the first time in a Gulf country.

“It is an appropriate time for the conference to be coming to Dubai as the city is working towards hosting Expo 2020 which is the biggest trading and business event in the world.

“Dubai is the engine of the Middle East economy and the Middle East economy is a route to economic success for European countries.  The conference will pave the way for member firms in Europe, Africa and indeed Asia to access business opportunities and resources in the Middle East leading to all-round development.”

DFK International will also hold its first ever Future Leaders Summit at the Fairmont Hotel ahead of the conference.

The Future Leaders Summit is being launched to provide a platform for young partners and young directors within member firms to shape the future of the association.

Johan Dens, vice president of DFK EMEA, said: “We are delighted that the annual conference is being held in Dubai as it is an important business and investment centre.

“Its location is easily accessible for our members within the EMEA region and so we are hoping that it will broaden the geographical reach of those attending, particularly from firms in Asia.”

The DFK National Chairs and Board of Directors will also meet ahead of the three-day conference, which will include a packed programme of business and social activities to explore Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE.

Malia said: “Dubai is known for its largest, tallest and biggest buildings and many wonders of the world.  Delegates will experience, understand and learn as well that the development of the city is due to the harmony among its people of 200 nationalities and the peaceful functioning of a multicultural society.

“Dubai and UAE is also recognised for its hospitality and we will put our best efforts into making this conference as outstanding not only in attendance but by active participation of members as well.  We look forward to welcoming everyone here.”
